Modeling of nonstationary gas outflow at breaks of subsea gas pipelines

چکیده

Abstract Numerical modeling of the outflow an air jet into water with a guillotine rupture pipeline by VOF method using k-ε and k-ω SST turbulence models was carried out. The calculations were out in axisymmetric approximation. following phases process calculated: formation large gas bubble at place rupture, its growth, separation from behind bubble. It is shown that rate detachment model higher than calculation model.

Using Operating Data at Natural Gas Pipelines

INTRODUCTION Interstate natural gas pipelines are operated using sophisticated supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems. These systems are used to monitor, control and analyze operations. Software which runs in conjunction with the basic SCADA system expands the usefulness of SCADA data to enhance reliability and efficiency of operations, improve customer service, and minimize u...

Transient modeling of gas flow in pipelines following catastrophic failure

This paper simulates transient compressible adiabatic gas flows in a long pipeline following a catastrophic failure using an implicit high order finite difference scheme as a discretisation technique for convective terms. A rupture is assumed to be occurred accidentally at a distance from the feeding point of a pipeline where the pipeline being divided into two distinct sections, high and low p...

Acoustic Reflectometry for Gas Pipelines – Monitoring Features in Gas Pipelines Using Acoustek

This paper will provide an overview of a patented acoustic technique known as Acoustek ® that has been developed to detect features, such as blockages and leakages in gas pipelines. The technique involves injecting an acoustic, or pressure pulse into the gas within the pipeline. This acoustic pulse will travel as a plane wave along the pipeline and will be partially reflected wherever there is ...
